About Us

Having lived and worked in and around Potters Bar for numerous years, too numerous to mention, we decided that though there were some fantastic local publications out there that we could really do with a magazine that focused on all aspects of local life, from eating out to schools through to local services and shops.

This is where Potters Bar Life was born. Whilst the name may not adequately reflect the areas we will cover which will be Brookmans Park, Cuffley, Northaw, Water End, South Mimms, Little Heath & Welham Green.

These areas are loaded with local histories all of their own and possess a wealth of clubs, business and organisations that can enrich many parts of our lives.

We will be focusing on real issues that make a difference, from which is the best, (voted by you of course), Indian Takeaway through to which hairdresser is best for straight or curly hair.

There are many services offered freely throughout our areas that we don’t know about and if we don’t know about them then how can we avail of them. All business offer something for free though they don’t consider it a free service just part of their normal routine, so don’t think to advertise it. For example most local hairdressers offer free consultations, many interiors business such as bathroom and kitchen installations offer free quotes and often free really good advice.

It is important that we all do our best to revitalise our local communities, keeping the business and services we value alive. We can only do this by using them.

If you offer a local service or business and would like your customers to know about you then please submit a short article telling us what you do and why customers or clients should use you.

We are planning to have our first printed publication ready for Christmas,

If you have any photos or articles that you think would interest the local communities then please submit them, we would love to hear from you.

  1. Dear Editor

I am just writing to you as it appears you have a number of errors on your website in relation to my Moves Fitness Class at 7pm on Mondays at St Marys Church Hall, The Walk Potters Bar.

There is not a defined age range for the class but if you felt there should be one added it should be 16 to 99 as it is suitable for all ages.

The class cost is £5 and the first class is free.

Also there is no need to book, you can just turn up each week as you are available to come.

If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thanks for your help with this matter.

    Best wishes

    Angie Phillips
