Pottersbar Cine and Video Society

Help and advice on how to make the most of your videos, through technical evenings, competitions and open evenings when members present their own videos. All of this in a friendly atmosphere.

Age Group: No limit

Venue address:  The Henry Fetherstone Suite, The Wyllyotts Centre, Darkes Lane, Potters Bar

Meeting Times: Alternate Thursdays at 7.45 p.m.

In 1950, five members of the local photographic Society (Cine Section) broke away and formed the Potters Bar Cine Society. It has been going successfully ever since.

Members have produced many award winning films, throughout the years. You will have seen some of the results if you have seen the ‘TWO JOHNS’ Video Show.

But it is not all about winning awards. The Society helps and encourages filmmakers to make the most of precious moments captured on tape or disc; whether a family celebration, holiday or exciting adventure.

The Society had a special Jubilee dinner in May, when one of the founder members sent his reminiscences all the way from Australia, on video, of course, for all to enjoy.

Almost from the formation of the Society PBCVS has held a ‘Public Show’, sometimes twice a year. In recent years they have only had one show a year, but to mark the auspicious occasion of reaching their Diamond Anniversary and because at last year’s Show the Hall was filled to capacity PBCVS will put on two performances. On Saturday 2nd October in Northaw Village Hall

So, if you have some special footage you want to make the most of, or you just want to find out more about film and video making, the Society is very friendly, so come and join us.
